    I hate the cliched act of coming into one of these polls and saying "[name], and its not even close", because that's just so lame and predictable but...Merkerson, and its not even close

    Absolutely brilliant performance, and once again what I was talking about a few days ago in the form of Temple Grandin, where had this been theatrically released, the person would have made a considerable dent in the film awards season. 2005 was a notoriously weak year for Best Actress in terms of the nominees, so S. Epatha Merkerson could have basically been a mainstay that entire season, since she had the performance and was an under-recognized veteran performer who has deserved to get her dues for a very long time. She was even somehow nominated for the Independent Spirit Award that season, a richly deserved nomination. So glad she swept in one way or the other!
