Kosinski would be a wild pick if he ends up getting DGA, there's still a possibility AMPAS (Guilds) goes apeshit for Top Gun: Maverick lol

Director: The top two directors (regardless of gender) from the Round One Chapter vote will automatically be nominated. The top five female and top five male directors will be longlisted. The longlisting jury will select the remaining three female and three male directors to create a longlist of 16 (equal gender split). In Round Two, the nominating jury will select four directors to join the two automatically nominated in Round One, creating a nominations list of six.
So,
Top 2 get in to the Final 6
16 names
8 for female directors
8 for male directors
8=5+3.
(5 - top 5 from voting from all members)
(3 - from jury)
I think Park will be one of the 3 names that jury pick for sure. They will love to go with another Asian director like they go with
- Lee Isaac Chung (2020): American-Korean
- Ryusuke Hamaguchi (2021): Japanese
- Aleem Khan (2021): British-Pakistan

I feel like there's a coalescing of support behind Park? This is definitely seeming like his moment, the LACMA Gala, the Best Director Prize in Cannes, the Critics Choice API Director Prize, it'll be the highest grossing foreign language film in contention, it's the only film to hit BIFA and Gotham, we've seen him with countless member supporters like John Cho, Domee Shi, Robert Downey, Jr., Guillermo del Toro, etc.
I kinda see him hitting BAFTA, Globes, CCA and one of the major Critics Groups Director Prizes and I'm not sure how he misses with that combo? Honestly he seems like he's in better shape than maybe anyone but Spielberg?
I'm predicting Park too. The film has held up well since Cannes, he's going everywhere to promote.
I would like to see Oscar nomination for Park, of course. His "Oldboy" is one of my favorite movies.

Hard to think there will be a more brilliant case of direction than Park's of Decision To Leave.
Hopefully the international pick will be Guadagnino.
I'm predicting Ruben Östlund to make it.
Just absolutely sad + mad I never escaped…
Park Chan-wook - Decision to Leave (Winner)
Steven Spielberg - The Fabelmans
Sarah Polley - Women Talking
Todd Field - Tár
James Cameron - Avatar 2
Martin McDonagh - The Banshee of Inisherin

1. Steven Spielberg, The Fabelmans

Who gains the 38 Chazelle votes? I suppose he hangs on to 15 of them because AW hates to give up until the last possible moment, but I expect Cameron to make a move.

Todd Field, TÁR
Martin McDonagh, The Banshees of Inisherin
Park Chan-wook, Decision to Leave
Steven Spielberg, The Fabelmans
Good news for McDonagh and Cameron.
"And there on top of his head were faces like she had seen only in a dream, almost too beautiful to be recognized as people at all:
