Who's winning this year?Certainly not The Fabelmans, lol.
Such a weird season.

Why not The Fabelmans? Lol
Top Gun 2 is not winning. Don't be ridiculous. This reminds me of when people kept predicting that Black Panther the first one was gonna win the best picture oscar. That was as ridiculous as TG2 prediction.
Anyway, The Fabelmans seems to be the most non problematic and accessible movie. I think that's who's gonna win

I am not predicting it,but they literally defaulted to the feel good movie in 2021. If Fablemans/Babylon underwhelm and Everything Everywhere All at Once/Tar are too 'art film" or whatever for them Top Gun has that top spot in the populist/box office beast lane over Black Panther: Wakanda Forever or Avatar2
She Said is my placeholder winner at the moment until something else happens. Timely, workmanlike, passable critically. This feels like a filler-to-winner pick. They’ll save their bold pick for Director.
She Said has to get nominated before anything
Love how The Fabelmas is right there and everyone is looking for some alternatives as if it doesn't exist.
CODA didn’t win just because it was a “feel good” film, it also won because voters felt good about supporting a charming ensemble of underrepresented minorities in a film that centered their story. EEAAO can hit that same sweet spot; I feel like some of the discourse is overestimating the potential negative impact of the “weirdness” and “artsiness” of it while underestimating the rootability factor.
