If Parasite and Drive My Car couldn't get acting nominations, there is no way Decision To Leave will. Even with the other above the line nominations like Picture and Director it could easily get into.

If neither Fraser nor Butler are getting nominated who the hell is?
Gabriel Labelle is fantastic in The Fabelmans. I can see him making it in, though not at the expense of Fraser or Butler. I think those 2 are solidly in, along with Farrell. The last 2 spots are wide open: Cruise, Nighy, Labelle, Hanks, Smith, Calva, Cacho, Pope, Mescal.
Something keeps telling me (since seeing it back in April) that Cruise is in. It just feels "right" to include him this year. Big year for him: turned 60, got super rare Honorary Palme d'Or (?!?!), biggest blockbuster of his career, etc. It feels like the stars are aligned for him to be that "non-first time" nominee. I can't see the dying Oscars go for Ham Hackman in a film nobody seems to give a shit about. There's gotta be a past nominee in here - and if it's between Cruise, Hanks (film looks very ordinary), or Smith (I don't think people are ready to "forgive" him just yet)...

We all should take more into consideration Ricardo Darín for Argentina 1985 and Paul Mescal for Aftersun.
Amazing work both of them.
I mean this is an empty category, so why it's impossible to have actors from foreign movies...
Especially if it's a one that might get to BP and BD!!!
Parasite suffered a competitive category here, and so did DMC...
We have only Butler and Fraser (who are also weak) here this season and the rest are not a sure thing.
No offense, but the poll still have Song Kang-ho from the movie that vanished every where and Park Hae-il from the movie that was recieved better, was picked for the Oscars and all over the place is not there is kinda laughable...
And I'm not even asking to remove Song Kang-ho, but make it make sense![]()

Oscar morning couldn’t come any faster, but I’m hoping and expecting something absolutely crazy for that last slot.
Although this category is still adamant to go as many foreign language performances as the female does, and usually the actors nominated are famous enough in the arthouse cinema or had considerable resume in Hollywood (Mastroianni, Giannini, Depardieu, Von Sydow, Bardem, Banderas). It's harder for an unknown foreign language performance by a male actor just to keep his name in contention.
