This category is so dead that we predicted The Whale twice.

    1) walking talking
    2) The whale
    3) White noise
    4) Living
    5) Bones and All

Waiting on “She Said” reviews in which case I’ll likely replace “Bones and All” with it.

As great as “Bones and All” seems it’s still horror, I don’t think it’s unrealistic to think voters might not want to watch it, regardless of the raves it’s getting. Whereas if something like “She Said” is strong that seems much more voter friendly.

You know I’ll always be on the “bones and all” train and I’ll be hopeful for it but I’m just being realistic. I’ve heard great things about the script though and the lines in the trailer seems strong so I have hope but yeah…..that horror bias is strong still, even if the writing branch are more accepting than others. Hopeful but not sure. That’s my stance

Horror bias is strong in terms of genre/commercial. They're not ever going to nominate something like Saw or The Conjuring.

But the Academy has been open to artistic horror which this is. They know who Luca G. is.

We had a recent BP winner that had many artistic horror elements.

I hope so! As more films fail and this one continues to rise I am starting to see a path for it. It has Lucas name as well which will be alluring to voters.

Maybe the Nobel to Ernaux is the trigger for Happening to start... happening?

Honestly this category is so un-locked this year anything could happen.

I'm literally not writing anything off yet here. Even Top Gun.
