DEADLINE FOR THE FOURTH AND FINAL ROUND: TUESDAY 13 DECEMBER 09:59 AM PT / 13:59 AM ET
"And there on top of his head were faces like she had seen only in a dream, almost too beautiful to be recognized as people at all:
the most beautiful woman and the most beautiful man in the world, she the female version of him, and he the male version of her"
My thoughts exactly.
It's the best reviewed of all contenders so far (and that seems unlikely to change) and probably the movie event of the year, so I wonder how it is that many people still think it may miss a BP nom or just scrape through a low tier nominee? Is it because of the CAROL precedent?Tar won't be Top 5.
That was pretty much an anomaly and it's not like two movies must have the same award path only because they both have Blanchett playing lesbians.![]()
People are STILL debating where Marina deserved to be nominated? In this, the year of our lord 2022?
If you think her achingly beautiful performance is "an extra", then I don't know what to tell you.
Either way, it would be wonderful if Hoss got nominated, and I agree with George that TÁR is likely Top 5.

(All my reviews going back to 2012 can be found here)
Nina Hoss has enough stuff for a nomination people have been nominated for much less than that
What tech nod can Tar get besides score?
Is cinematography impossible? I haven't been following that category.

Field's team is flawless but no big names. Hoffmeister worked with Terrence Davies and the editor Monika Willi has worked with Haneke since La Pianiste.

I think the only triangle of sadness we are going to have this year are the winners of Actor, Actress and Supporting Actress.
I take it either you weren’t very big on Everything Everywhere All At Once, or you just don’t see it being an AMPAS thing? I noticed you aren’t predicting it in any of the acting categories, including Actress and Supporting Actor.
By the way, tagging onto the earlier discussion here, I can totally see Jamie Lee Curtis happening, especially if the film overperforms.
Olivia (the one on the left) was very sweet.
