"And there on top of his head were faces like she had seen only in a dream, almost too beautiful to be recognized as people at all:
the most beautiful woman and the most beautiful man in the world, she the female version of him, and he the male version of her"
Till starts to screen for press in NY next week
Are we really using this kind of thinking like it’s still the academy and mindset of the 70s?
Jessica Chastain was supposed to lose because actresses don’t win after years of being shut down or third nominations etc.
At the end of the day an Oscar is an Oscar and they won’t be using the fact that she’s been nominated plenty times before against her. Let’s be real, lmao.
I can see a path for Yeoh.
GG ceremony - Jan, 10
GG-C/M - Yeoh or Robbie, after Day and Zegler, they seems to love to award POC actors, So I say Yeoh now.
GG-D - Blanchett or someone
————
CC ceremony - Jan, 15
BFCA - Pundits maybe reward Yeoh.
————
BAFTA ceremony - Feb, 19
BAFTA - They can go with frontrunner at the moment like they go with Smith last year.
SAG ceremony - Feb, 28
I can see Yeoh take both of actress & ensemble.
But right now, I still can see Blanchett, Robbie & Deadwyler win too.
So waiting for televised ceremony.
BAFTA before SAG? That's refreshing. When was the last time that happened?
"And there on top of his head were faces like she had seen only in a dream, almost too beautiful to be recognized as people at all:
the most beautiful woman and the most beautiful man in the world, she the female version of him, and he the male version of her"
That was such a refreshing year for acting winners that no one made a clean sweep.
Brody only had the Oscar (Gere and Nicholson had the Globe, DDL had SAG/BAFTA)
Kidman had Globe and BAFTA but lost SAG to Zellweger
Cooper only has the Globe losing both SAG and BAFTA to Christopher Walken
CZJ had SAG and BAFTA losing Globe to Zellweger since she was placed in Lead
Kinda funny Zellweger both stopped the sweeps of Kidman and Zeta Jones among the major televised ones
CONSIDER
1. Cate Blanchett, TÁR
2. Michelle Yeoh, EEAAO
3. Olivia Colman, Empire of Light
4. Ana de Armas, Blonde
5. Naomi Ackie, I Wanna Dance With Somebody
Deadwyler makes a lot of sense.
Tang Wei - Decision to Leave (Winner)
Naomie Ackie - I Wanna Dance with Somebody
Olivia Colman - Empire of Light
Cate Blanchett - TAR
Margot Robbie - Babylon
Ana de Armas - Blonde
Jessica Chastain - The Good Nurse
Danielle Deadwyler - Till
Jennifer Lawrence - Causeway
Imagine what Nora has been thinking of all this win talk these last few months when Michelle Yeoh is still outside the top 33.
