Best Directing for a Drama Series Winner of the 2010s

These are the episodes to have won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series in the 2010s. An interesting lot, with a surprising amount of film directors moving to television.

Decided to go with the biggest logistical effort! Just the huge epic Battle of the Bastards!

I mean Mad Men wasn’t the showiest drama, but I wish it had at least won once. Maybe for Season 5, “The Other Woman.”

I was literally scrolling through expecting to find a Mad Men win lol

I threw a bone to Dexter. The Getaway was indeed a great episode, just before the series started to lose the plot.

I have to say it's cool though that all choices here have received a vote at the least.

It has more consistently great direction than any of the shows listed here. I'll remind everyone that Reverse Shot devoted a whole essay to Mad Men's visual aesthetic, and they rarely discuss TV outside stuff like Twin Peaks: The Return.

still cannot believe breaking bad never won here. though the final season had the misfortune of going up against david fincher and then true detective (which was a very good win in its own right)

It may have been robbed at the Emmys for directing but its legacy clearly lives on.

Really hard choice between Battle of the Bastards and Who Goes There for me, but I'll pick the former.
