I, mean, I applaud our thirsty kweens tbh! Sometimes they get a bit too much, but overall, they add so much flavour to every Oscar season!

Calva might at least have the performance to back up the thirst unlike some others…
"And there on top of his head were faces like she had seen only in a dream, almost too beautiful to be recognized as people at all:
the most beautiful woman and the most beautiful man in the world, she the female version of him, and he the male version of her"
Now, if both Diego Calva and Daniel Gimenez Cacho are nominated, this will be the first time:
-Two Mexican actors are nominated in the same category (Gimenez Cacho is Spanish-Mexican actor)
-Two Latino actors nominated in the same category
-Two foreign actors from the same non anglophone country nominated in the same category.
This last point is interesting cause we have pairs but in different categories:
1936: Russians (Auer and Oupenskaya)
1955: Italians (Magnani and Pavan)
1957: Italians (Magnani and De Sica)
1957: Japanese (Hayakawa and Umeki)
1961: Austrians (Schell and Lenya)
1966: French (Aimée and LaGarde)
1987: Italians (Mastroianni and Gardenia)
2011: French (Dujardin and Bejo)
2018: Mexicans (Aparicio and De Tavira)
2020: Koreans (Yeun and Youn)
And that's included proper double nationals like Gardenia, Yeun or Bejo. But if Calva and Gimenez Cacho break this record, this is one not even Australia was capable to do or Canada since 1931.

Robbie/Bullyanchett too this year maybe?

True
But in my defense, this record for Australia may be done till this year which it's surprising cause you would think Australia would have done that before.
I though 2000 can count but it seems Russell Crowe hasn't acquired the Australian citizenship, so 100% Kiwi. Neither 2003.

I think Watts/Castle-Hughes is the closest thing, but the latter doesn’t have Australian citizenship, due to her attaining citizenship in New Zealand.
edit: Just saw Kostas saying the same thing above me. My bad.
Kohn/Thompson are really high on Nighy and Living in general, really hope it goes to Telluride to see the poll results (if it’s in play for anything outside of Nighy)

Yea if Diego wants it that badly and he’s campaigning alongside Brad and Margot he’s pretty much in. As much talk there is about how baity their roles are, Diego’s is just as great. The story is his and if Babylon is top 3, he should be safe.
A combo of:
Diego
Butler
Fraser
Nighy
Jackman
Is seeming more likely by the day.
Omg, not using Clayton Davis as your hype girl, lmao. Have some self respect, Diego!
I bet Calva is here 👀
What’s your nickname, sir?
Big lol at Clayton having Calva below Styles.
Brendan Fraser - The Whale (Winner)
Leonardo DiCaprio - Killers of the Flower Moon
Austin Butler - Elvis
Kelvin Harrison Jr. - Chevalier
Park Hae-il - Decision to Leave
Christian Bale - The Pale Blue Eye
Daniel Gimenez Cacho - Bardo
Diego Calva - Babylon
Colman Domingo - Rustin
Adam Driver - White Noise
Hugh Jackman - The Son
Bill Nighy - Living
