Winona in lead is equally ridiculous as Einbender in supporting

Lynskey is probably going to get in, but I can't decide who to throw out from the 2020 line-up (+ I refuse to predict a Moore snub )

Lynskey would be my pick with Suranne Jones and Kim Min-ha close behind. But this feels like the biggest lock of the night when it comes to acting. I don't see any way Zendaya doesn't win.

Biggest lock of the night is an enormous stretch. She’s definitely vulnerable.

    1. Aniston
    2. Linney
    3. Lynskey
    4. Moore
    5. Reilly
    6. Zendaya

I think some of the lineups I’ve been seeing are way too… white? Don’t the Emmy’s usually (and rightfully so) lean towards including more POC nominees than predicted by pundits? Going NGNG on Ashley.

Think Bridgerton might be being a little underestimated as a whole, tbh. S1 got 12 noms! S2 was the most watched Netflix English language show *ever* for a bit! That’s millions and millions of eyeballs it has on it these other shows don’t have.

That said… it Is Netflix’ 4th main push, so yknow. I get why people are being bearish on it.

True! But Oh is on the bottom end of most people’s predictions (including mine, for that matter), and on some she’s not in there at all — and I really doubt we’d only get Zendaya as our sole POC nominee.

Idk, I just could really see the Jean-Page love from last year re-materializing itself as a nom for Ashley.

Bridgerton really benefited from an extremely weak drama field + the fact that it was the first season so it was seen as a big breakout.

I loved Ashley in the show but she just doesn’t have the buzz RJP had even if she (and Bailey) were a lot better.

    Jodie Comer, Killing Eve
    Laura Linney, Ozark
    Melanie Lynskey, Yellowjackets

next in line: Juliette Lewis, Yellowjackets; Britt Lower, Severance; Sandra Oh, Killing Eve; Kelly Reilly, Yellowstone

I don't have much confidence in really anyone outside Linney and Zendaya? Emmys could really throw some curveballs here if they want.

THIS is the season for which Netflix decided to campaign Winona Ryder in Lead?

Winona Ryder has been submitted in Lead since season 2 iirc. Her snub for Season 1 is still so weird.

Save for S1 in Supporting, they've always put her in Lead in the succeeding reasons

I’ve been wondering the same thing (for both Ashley & Bailey). Most of us here in agreement that the show will likely underperformed to due a combination of it being pandemic fluke, lighter content than most shows and stronger competition. But on the other hand S2 was biggest biggest English hit ever (until ST-S4-V1), was astronomical better received than S1 and the two leads have been everywhere.

It’s one Elisabeth Moss’ favourite shows and she even wants to direct for it. If that feeling is common than we suspect, it could end up performing really well (especially on an unlimited ballot).

The one season she was lead, had the material and all the precursor support they put her in supporting. I never understood why.

And now she’s a supporting character and they put her in lead. Can they give her leading material again for the last season?

    Final Predictions
    1. Laura Linney, Ozark
    2. Zendaya, Euphoria
    3. Mandy Moore, This Is Us
    4. Melanie Lynskey, Yellowjackets
    5. Jennifer Aniston, The Morning Show
    6. Sandra Oh, Killing Eve

Linney and Zendaya are locked. After that it could be interesting. There is sooooooo much passion for Moore this season I can't imagine her missing. But then again, she did get snubbed for S2 so you never know. Lynskey also feels like there's so much passion behind. As long as Yellowjackets isn't a huge flop she should get in, but obviously Yellowjackets being a flop certainly is possible. Aniston is just an easy nomination. Could miss due to lack of passion, but should be safe in a wide open field. Going with Oh in the last slot, which might not make sense without Comer, but I could see the same voters checking Oh & Comer off, but maybe a few more check Oh off just because they like her. I had Kelly Reilly for a second, but I don't have Yellowstone in series so I'm not sure if she makes sense without a Series nomination. If Yellowjackets does overperform, I wouldn't be surprised with a Juliette Lewis nomination though. And of course Britt Lower is certainly possible if Severance overperforms.
