I started listening to Phoenix after the first album had come out, oddly enough introduced to it by some expat Brits while I was living in Paris for half a year, and for the life of me I could never figure out why Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix was the album that broke them big. The previous one, It's Never Been Like That, while slightly more rock-based, has just as many catchy songs, and that first half is flawless, just one banger after another. Their debut United is a genre-jumping classic, and Alphabetical has a Steely Dan-level of precision, clarity and smoothness.

So anyway, will probably vote for Wolfgang anyway but just wanted to say my piece re: this great band!

You say that every time a pop album wins. Sometimes pop albums can be high quality, you know

Anyway, not a lot of great options here. That Eminem win is particularly laughable.
