Cobra Kai is quite literally one of their biggest shows?? This is from 2021 and it has only grown since then:
According to Netflix, all three seasons of Cobra Kai have been viewed by a total of 73 million households, a figure that puts the Karate Kid spinoff among some of Netflix’s most-popular series, including Stranger Things, Tiger King, and recent release Bridgerton.
The Crown has done better than either parts of Ozark released earlier in the year fwiw. S5 is definitely their biggest yet.

The biggest Netflix shows in last 12 months for multiple season shows: Stranger Things by far, then in next group Bridgerton and The Witcher, Ozark in the US but globally would be in next tier down. Then a tier with The Crown, Cobra Kai, Sandman, Umbrella Academy, Emily in Paris and quietly Virgin River.

I always felt like Succession was winning (assuming S4 isn't panned duh), but I wanted to wait and see if the momentum for The Crown kept growing and that doesn't seem to be the case. I literally haven't seen any tweets or discussions around it anywhere since it aired. I know Succession isn't a juggernaut with viewership but the base it has is passionate and loud enough to keep the momentum going so it never needed it like The Crown did.

Yeah, I think weíre in for a Succession three-peat, but The Last of Us continues to interest me as an alternate if itís acclaimed and has a big breakout. Even then, would it be enough to overtake Succession? Though I do think Drama Series is due for a win that comes from a new show. I guess The Crown is still in the wings for the Series win, but that feels less likely now.

Didn't stop ST from being snubbed for acting/writing/directing though (and Bridgerton for more).

I feel like HOTD is in play after those Game of Thrones wins.

Goddamn at those Dahmer numbers, having a season ahead of Stranger Things first week is jesus, even if the latter is abreviatted. And 35 from Dahmer week 2 to Stranger Things week 2 isn't THAT much.

This is purely just intuition, but Iím personally not really feeling a HOTD Series win. I think it will/can do well with acting nominations and maybe even get an acting win, but I donít know if I see it being strong enough for actually winning Series. I guess I feel itíll be the BCS to GOTís Breaking Bad in terms of winning Series.

Wouldn't HBO make a decision internally wether they're pushing Succession or HOTD for the Series win?

Right now I don't say why they wouldn't put their force behind Succession

Is there a stat on what happens to the other show when there are two big HBO show contending?

Succession is obv a much bigger priority for Emmys, HotD is much more commercial.

"And there on top of his head were faces like she had seen only in a dream, almost too beautiful to be recognized as people at all:
the most beautiful woman and the most beautiful man in the world, she the female version of him, and he the male version of her
    "

I mean Succession got HBO's spring slot this season which they usually reserve for their main priorities since that's near the eligibility deadline, it's obviously their #1.

Succession is obviously primed for a third win next year, but I do think HotD will end up taking it for a future season. It does seem to be gearing up to be their next cultural behemoth.

It can win over succession. TLOU can be a stronger Squid Game by also winning directing and lead actor on top of having more tech supports which could make it pull through.

I can see HoTD winning for later seasons if it continues to have momentum.

I think Hilary Swank could be a potencial drama actress nominee.

Will be interesting to see if Disenchanted ends up being a tv movie nom despite the poor reviews and audience score. A high probability just due to the lack of alternatives with a big enough audience.

I'm kind of hoping 'Love Power' gets an Emmy nomination.

Jesse Armstrong said that he was hoping for 5 seasons at best and that the show shouldn't overstay it's welcome, but nothing is confirmed yet.
