Rage Against the Machine and MC5 getting in together would be cool. RATM HAS to finally get in though.
GREAT set of nominees. I'm in two minds about Dolly. She is undeniable of course but probably their least rock and roll nominee ever? Oh well, it'll be fun when she gets inducted. Hope this opens the door for Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline to get in.
Rooting for Beck, Duran Duran, Pat, Judas Priest, Eurhythmics, Eminem and my girl Carly! Dionne, Dolly, Lionel, RATM, ATCQ and Kate too of course. Just a peerless ballot, really.

Lionel and Dolly feel like near-locks. Eminem's controversial but his veteran status probably is enough for him to make it.
The Mariah disrespect is just![]()
The way they make women wait forever. Mary J. and Chaka were nominated last year, but N/A this year.
No PJ Harvey or Bjork again.
Dolly Parton has withdrawn herself from consideration.![]()
Any list without New Order can get fucked.
And Iron Maiden missing the long list this time is another fail.

I’m curious if this effects the chances of other country artists being inducted in the future. The Rock Hall has included rap, pop, and disco artists so I don’t see why not country as well. Will this move cause people to look at future inductees and think “they’re not rock n’ roll!” or if say, someone like Barbra Streisand were to be inducted, stir a debate as to how appropriate that induction is?

I think there is a clear blinder and bias against non American Act's or people in certain genre's. No reason Kate Bush,New Order and Maiden weren't inducted much earlier given how impact they have had on shaping entire genre's and Kraftwerk only getting in as "an earlier influencer" semi induction thing last year was pretty bad.
I think this is absolutely not true for punk... which I think is adequately represented? All its essential acts are in the hall. Maybe the 2nd or 3rd tier punk acts are still waiting in the wings but not the first tier.
When compared to metal whose first tier acts (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Motorhead) are still waiting induction, it doesn't stack up.
In regards to New Order, they haven't been nominated yet but I think they'll be inducted eventually. Might take a couple of nominations to get there. And they'll probably appear on the ballot as Joy Division/New Order.
Yeah, it's not punk they have a prejudice against.
Iron Maiden did make the long list a year or two ago so they haven't been completely ignored, but it's crazy to me that their millions of international fans haven't tried to rig the poll.

Eminem and Judas Priest confirmed as performers:
(there’s a rumor on Reddit that Eminem will be performing with a surprise “powerful” performer, and that they’ve been in discussions about the performance the past couple weeks; some are guessing Aerosmith for Sing For The Moment, but I don’t know that there’s any truth to that rumor)

Not only do they make bad picks but they put in non rock artists. Fuck these guys!
I mean, the picks are largely pretty good for an exclusive club. Some classes are stronger than others. The only really non-rock artists they've put in is Dolly Parton, who has made no rock adjacent records but is essential in that her influence in future first-ballot inductees is indelible.
Rock and Roll -> Soul & R&B -> Funk -> Disco and Dance -> Rap & Hip-Hop.
All of these genres are borne out of rock and roll and is a living thread of the evolution of what is a primarily Black genre in its core.
