I wonder will he make his schedule work out or drop out of "Ferrari" for this?

Interesting cast, but the Jon Voight.
I wonder what's gonna happen with the role Pfeiffer was considered for?
Another great collaboration added to Driver's resume, and he's not even 40. Very impressive.
Big get for Nathalie Emmanuel, I’ve never seen her get the chance to do a ton of acting but she’s always charming when she pops up in stuff.
The Drivers are being fed.![]()
Driver has such a ’70s New Hollywood vibe to me that this casting seems perfect.
Working with Mann and Coppola in the same year, that's pretty cool.
Aww sad Z couldn't be in it but I love Nathalie!!!! Does this mean Cate Blanchett is out???
Blackhat was awful but his films he made in the naughts were pretty good.
Also I just can't imagine critics giving Coppola's likely last film and his passion project decades in the making awful reviews. Even if the film is messy as hell I'm kind of expecting decent reviews lol.
Driver's resume is crazy good
Who was it that said Oscar Isaac should have Driver's agent and career?
Between this and Armageddon Time and some of his other weird choices, isn't it kind of obvious that Isaac essentially abdicated the position he should have by virtue of talent? (Yes, I know he did The Card Counter/Dune.) Also, Driver doesn't even have an agent.
That being said, this project seems like it has high failure/risk potential, which is probably why all the older more established names who bring in financing ran away from it. Driver might have been lower than 10th choice on paper. If his current placement in the Hollywood echelon is baffling, it's probably due to a combination of willingness to just go for the film maudit projects and genuinely impressive real-life charisma / ability to nail meetings with these directors. He got the Scorsese, Jarmusch, Carax, and Star Wars projects on the basis of meetings -- no audition/screen test -- with essentially only Girls and a couple bit parts in his back pocket. It's definitely a weird trajectory.
I agree he's very good and interesting on Girls, and it's probably still his calling card. I agree with misere though that Driver just seems willing to sign onto anything by anybody who ever made anything great at any point in their career. He's almost the anti-Gosling; Gosling's a way more talented actor who seems indifferent to directorial pedigree. Driver's almost doing a dummies version of a Leo impersonation, but only looking at the wiki page for Academy Award Best Director and not analyzing scripts.
